Benjamin

Benjamin is a creative, caring, and funny young man that has a big heart and loves to make people happy. Benjamin was diagnosed with Autism at 18 months old and his family knew the best place for Benjamin was to be in the Naperville School District 204 so he could receive the best services. Benjamin started in the district at a very young age entering the pre-school program and then graduated from Waubonsie Valley High School in 2016. Benjamin was also very involved with the “Best Buddies” club in high school and in September 2014 he became a Buddy Director for the Best Buddies club! Benjamin also took his love for the Arts to the stage and performed in several dance routines at the Waubonsie Valley Orchesis Showcases. In 2014 Benjamin played the King in the play “Tangled” at Waubonsie. Benjamin was very involved in sports as well. Benjamin was on the WVHS Special Olympics team from 2012-2016 while attending high school. During his time in high school, Benjamin received several Regional Special Olympic medals and a few Summer State Special Olympic medals too; in 2013 his team earned the Bronze Medal in Basketball and in 2016 Benjamin received a Bronze Medal in Shotput. As Benjamin transitioned into the STEPS program he continued with his love for Special Olympics and recently received a Bronze Medal at the 2018 Summer State Special Olympic games in shotput. Benjamin’s love for sports and the arts have inspired many of his Comic Book characters.
